Banjo mh
T he wing is of SM701profile (the rectangular part) and FX60-126 (end of
trapezoid parts). The ends of the wings are provided with winglets with
little supporting wheels. |
|
 |
The
foundation of the construction is a box spar made of plywood and ribs
made of
spruce balks 7x7 mm. They are made of two balks 3.5x8, glued together by EPOXY 371.
The
front part of the ribs is made of polystyrene foam 30mm thick.
The leading part is coated with
plywood and works as a torsion box.
The back part of the wing is covered with polyester fabrics. On the upper part of the
wing there are placed dumping air brakes.
The ailerons made of spruce, epoxy composite and plywood are covered with
polyester
fabrics. They are controlled by rods made of duralumin pipes, their deflection
is +11o and -22o.
The wing is fixed to the fuselage by profiled inclined struts.
The wing
is connected to the centre section at the box spar and at the trailing
edge. |

| The
fuselage including the fin rudder is
made of laminate shell. The shell is
provided with plywood ribs, which also work as suspenders of wings, wing struts, propulsion unit and
landing gear wheels. The sides of the cockpit are reinforced with
plywood. Together with the shell, the sides form the torsion box. The
propulsion unit space is covered with a three-piece cover |
 |
| The
cockpit is closed, with one-piece cover made of polycarboxylic material,
which is shatterproof. There is a window in the cover. The steerage
is designed in a standard way. On the control stick there is a stick of the longitude balance
control. In the cockpit there is a control of the air
brakes, control of the engine speed (on the left side of the cockpit), control of retracting of the
propulsion unit, ignition switch, starter switch, the control of the
propeller stop and the master switch (on the right). The cockpit is
provided with ventilation (its control is on the instrument panel |
 |
| The
Landing gear has one wheel (diameter 400mm) in front and an uncontrollable wheel (6x1,25 inch)
in the back The front wheel is provided with a disc
brake, which is controlled by the cycle handle placed on the control
stick. The ends of the wings are provided with little supporting wheels
of diameter of 100 mm |
 |
| The
tail wings are of "T" type. The profile of the horizontal tail
wing is a modified profile Wortman FX-71-L-150/30, of
the construction similar to the wing Its ground plan is a double trapezoid Deflection of the rudder is +25 0 and -300
|
 |
| The
instruments. The plane has one instrument panel with electronic
altimeter + variometer, bank indicator, air speed indicator, compass,
RPM meter, engine thermometer, and fuel level indicator |
 |
| The steering system. The steering of
the ailerons, the horizontal tail wings is provided by rods
with ball joints. Levers are placed on ball bearings. The steering of the rudder is provided by
cables. The steering of the air brakes is also provided by
cables with springs. |
 |
| The
propulsion unit.Engine HIRTH F33 B is used along with starter and V-belt reduction to drive the
Woodcomp propeller. The accumulator is charged by the engine. The
propulsion unit can be swung in the fuselage and again swung out of the
fuselage during the flight. For this purpose an electric engine is used.
It is controlled with a switch in the cockpit, its utmost positions are
limited with limit switches. The electric engine is powered by the same
accumulator as the starter. The starter switch works only when the
propulsion unit is completely swung out of the fuselage. |
|
Landing
gear: standard landing gear with fixed tail wheel and mechanical disc
brakes on front wheel. |
